  • consist of magnetite (40% w/w) in a matrix of poly(D,L-lactic acid) with a molecular weight of 17.000 D
  • available with mean diameters of 30 µm and 100 µm
  • established in the field of magnetic drug targeting in connection with a controlled drug release (The half-life time of the beads under in-vivo conditions mainly depends on the molecular weight of the polymers and increases with the molecular weight of the polymer.)
  • vailable with COOH or NH2 groups on the surface
  • can be loaded with drugs on request
