Caps, Liners & Septa
QEC offers an excellent selection of Polypropylene caps and lids with a choice of lining systems to fit your container and your applications.
We also offer PTFE/silicone septa and PTFE/chlorobutyl septa to fit a 24-414 open top cap, as well as EPA-compliant PTFE cap liners.

24-414 Open Top Caps with Septa
Preassembled open top polypropylene 24-414 caps for use with various containers, including VOA vials, 8 oz and 4 oz size boston rounds. Available with low-bleed PTFE/silicone septa or chlorobutyl/PTFE septa inserted.

Septa for 24-414 Open Top Caps
Low-Bleed Silicone/PTFE Septa:
Specially designed and manufactured for high performance and low bleed, these septa are pigment-free and are comprised of top quality, virgin materials. PTFE film provides an excellent chemical barrier and the silicone has good resealability characteristics. Max temperature rating for this style is 200 C. Independent testing has shown a significant improvement in bleed compared to other standard septa in the market.
PTFE/Chlorobutyl Septa:
Our Butyl septa are manufactured from a high quality, custom formulated compound and exhibit excellent low permeability characteristics, very good chemical resistance, and can withstand temperatures up to 100 C. Butyl septa work especially well when in contact with ketones and acids and have good resealability performance.

Bonded-Liner Caps
Polypropylene caps with bonded PTFE/low bleed silicone septa. Ideal for use with volatile solvents, corrosive chemicals and sensitive compounds.
An ultrasonic welding process bonds the liner to the cap, eliminating the risk of adhesive contamination and bond failure often associated with autoclaving or other high temperature/stress operations.
The PTFE film on the face of the liner imparts an inert, chemically resistant surface appropriate for the containment and storage of compounds, such as volatile solvents and corrosive chemicals.
The low bleed silicone has excellent resealing properties and possesses very good compression set characteristics to ensure a good seal over time.

Black Polypropylene Caps
These high-quality Polypropylene caps are recommended for good strength, thermal resistance, and pliability. Polypropylene caps are autoclavable. Chemically inert PTFE liners with Polyethylene foam backing resist attack from virtually all chemicals at room temperature and provides resilience for a tight seal with a low moisture transmission rate. Liners adhered to cap for minimal risk of liner fallout.

PTFE-Lined Polypropylene Caps
QEC's PTFE-lined caps provide the widest range of chemical compatibility with the best temperature tolerance. PTFE liners resist degradation from virtually all chemicals at room temperature, are resilient for a tight seal with low moisture transmission. QEC uses only EPA-compliant 0.015" thick PFTE liners.

PTFE Liners
PTFE liners hold up to virtually all chemicals at room temperature and provide a tight seal with low moisture transmission. All PTFE cap liners sold by QEC are 0.015" thickness compliant with EPA requirements. QEC has PTFE liners in most standard cap sizes from 22mm to 110mm.

Foam-Lined Polypropylene Caps
Foam liner consists of low-density polyethylene skin top and bottom with a foamed polyolefin core, in a chemically fused single polymeric product. Foam-lined polypropylene caps have excellent sealing characteristics and good chemical resistance to acids, alcohols, alkalis, aqueous products, household oil and solvents, among others. Uses include environmental lab samples, analytical lab samples, contaminant-intolerant chemicals, acids, solvents, and reagents.
